Educate children : Turining Walls into Doors
Early childhood education is a key to the betterment of the society. With an aim to imbibe good values and make them self-reliable, Sewa Bharti took yet another step to bring education to the doorstep of those who cannot go to schools. With the help of some ambitious students of Polytechnic College of Dhar, Sewa Bharti initiated a coaching program for underprivileged kids in the area. Due to the lack of formal infrastructure, the classes were held at the market place on the ledges after the shops closed for the day. The initiative garnered a lot of support from the local shopkeepers who started closing their shops at 7 instead of 8 so that the students could have more time to study.
This small step by Sewa Bharti and the college students had a huge impact on the motivation levels of young children and parents of the neighbourhood. 40 students who had never been to school enrolled for formal school education after being a part of this coaching program.
The kids who were left unattended after the parents left for their respective employments often found loitering around and involved in uncivil activities. But after coming in contact with the volunteers of Sewa Bharti, the kids were introduced to a better way of life and joy of education. Not only they are prevented from embroiling in destructive deeds, but are also working towards building a better future based on education and knowledge.
